महामृत्युंजय मंत्र Mahamrityunjay Mantra




ऊँ त्र्यंबकम् यजामहे सुगन्धिम् पुष्टिवर्धनम्।

उर्वारूकमिव बंधनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माम्मृतात्।।




          "यह महामृत्युंजय मंत्र जो मृत्यु/कष्ट/दुख को हरने वाला मंत्र माना गया है। यह ऋग्वेद (RV7.59.12) से लिया गया है, और पुनः यजुर्वेद (TS1.8.6.1) में उल्लेख है। इस श्लोक/प्रार्थना का उच्चारण अथवा इसे सुनना मन को शांति प्रदान करने वाला होता है।"

हिन्दी भावार्थ:-

          ऊँ! तीन नेत्रों वाले भगवान शिव जो समस्त संसार के पालनहार हैं, उनकी हम अराधना करते हैं। विश्व में सुरभि फैलाने वाले भगवान शिव मृत्यु से मुक्ति दिलाकर हमे मोक्ष की तरफ ले जाएं।

Sugandhim Pushti-Vardhanam 

Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityormukshiya Mamritat 

      “This Mahamrityunjay Mantra or Great death conquering mantra is a verse of Rigveda (Rv 7.59.12) and is recurs in yajurveda (Ts 1.8.6.1). Chanting of this shloka is believed to extricate suffering, ailment, anguish or trouble. Chanting or listening to this verse/prayer gives peace to the mind.”

English Translation (Gist):-

        Om! We worship the Lord Shiva (Three eyed one), who’s fragrance (Spiritual Essence) nourishes all beings, extricate suffering, ailment, anguish or trouble or the one who nourishes, strengthens and causes to increase health, wealth and well being. Also, who gladdens, exhilarate and restores health and finally extend death.
